A Message to The AJBA Voice
|
|
Hello from the Desk of Paul Maulsby, EVP of the American Brahman Breeders Association
As I settle into my role as Executive Vice President of the American Brahman Breeders Association, I have been diligently working to connect with and support the various segments of our association. Among the five pillars of ABBA—Purebred, Commercial, International, Research & Development, and Youth—the youth pillar holds a special place for me. While each pillar is critical to our mission, the youth represent the future of our breed and industry.
The American Junior Brahman Association is full of passionate and talented young leaders, and I have been impressed by the dedication of the AJBA Board. Their enthusiasm assures me that the future of our organization is in good hands.
Exciting Updates for AJBA Members
2025 All American – Plans are well underway, and schedules and room accommodations are now available.
New ABBA Website – We are just weeks away from launching our updated site, which will provide a wealth of information and resources for junior members. This will be a continually updated platform to keep you informed.
Looking to the Future
The All American is a cornerstone event for the AJBA, offering invaluable experiences for junior members. My goal is to build upon these opportunities and explore new initiatives, such as:
AJBA Board Leadership Retreat – A program to enhance leadership skills and create strong ambassadors for the Brahman breed.
Commercially Focused Conference – Featuring competitive events, industry-relevant activities, and hands-on learning experiences tailored to the commercial sector and how purebred Brahman genetics play a role in commercial operations.
International Youth Exchange – Providing opportunities for junior members to connect with Brahman breeders worldwide, learning about the breed’s role in different countries and sharing experiences.
This wish list is designed to develop well-rounded leaders who will make a meaningful impact on the Brahman breed and the beef industry. I look forward to working alongside you all to make these initiatives a reality.
See you down the road!
Paul Maulsby

2025 All American National Junior Show Updates
|
|
The All American is the National Junior Brahman Show, which is held every summer and open to AJBA members nationwide. The event consists of leadership contests, showmanship competition, and cattle exhibition where youth have the opportunity to exhibit both bulls and females in their respective divisions.
The Bred-and-Owned Show gives AJBA members a chance to produce their own champions. In this competition, members exhibit cattle that they have bred and raised themselves.
The F-1 Female Show gives AJBA members a chance to exhibit Golden Certified/Certified F-1 females at the All American. F-1 females must be certified through the ABBA F-1 Program Certificate Option and certificates must be in the exhibitors name prior to May 1, 2025.
A complete list of guidelines will be available in the All American entry packet, which is usually available in early spring.
To find this information and more, be sure to keep an eye on our website.
