Happy New Year! Message from ABBA President, Mark Forgason

Dear ABBA Members,

Happy New Year! I hope this message finds you well and that you enjoyed a joyful holiday season. I wish us all a prosperous 2025 filled with the successes of addressing our challenges and new opportunities. I want to share some updates on the progress within our association and the initiatives we are implementing to better serve our membership and the Brahman Breed.

Leadership and Team Development

Leadership has to do with who we are, not just what we say.

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Paul Maulsby joined ABBA as our new Executive Vice President on October 15th. Under his leadership, we are committed to strengthening our organization and enhancing the quality of services provided to our members. We’ve assembled a dynamic team, including:

  • Iridiana Ibarra, our Office Manager/Recording Secretary, who is training our new team members.
  • Chloe Grimm, our new Director of Communication.
  • Allison Hajny, our new DNA Coordinator.
  • Madison Rose, our new Registrations and Transfers Coordinator.
  • Kylie McIntosh, our new Director of Youth and Shows.

We are in the people business and must ensure that we treat each other, our customers, and especially our new ABBA team members with the genuine support and respect needed to ensure a rewarding and productive work environment.

While the onboarding process continues, we’re addressing a high volume of requests to ensure all member needs are met promptly and accurately. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition.

Key Updates and Improvements

Enhanced Communication Systems

Recognizing the importance of efficient communication, Paul has implemented a new phone system, currently in the testing phase, to better serve you. Additionally, we’re streamlining processes to guarantee timely responses to emails and calls. Your feedback is invaluable as we refine these systems.

Revamped Online Presence

We’re excited to announce that our fully redesigned website is in the works and nearing completion. This new platform will offer easy access to the latest news, events, and resources, greatly improving the member experience.

Financial Integrity

Monthly financial reports are sent via email to the ABBA Treasurer and then shared with the Board of Directors. These reports are reviewed by leadership and relevant committees to ensure accuracy and accountability. Rest assured, our nonprofit status remains secure, and we remain committed to sound financial practices.

Staff Turnover and Growth

Change often brings new opportunities. We’re proud to welcome several talented new staff members who bring fresh energy and expertise. Leadership is working to ensure staff retention by providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.

Unity and Collaboration

We understand the importance of unity and mutual respect among members. The Brahman breed thrives through collaboration, and we’re committed to strengthening relationships within the association. Rebuilding and maintaining strong connections with our members and external organizations remain top priorities.

International Relationships

We are excited about the international memberships that enlighten the path of collaboration that can and will be very helpful to our breed. Thank you for your membership; you are welcome, and we look forward to working with you.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made together and are excited about what lies ahead. Programs and other key performance initiatives are under active evaluation for reintroduction, reflecting our commitment to the growth and success of the Brahman breed.

Our mission is to serve you, our valued members, and ensure that the Brahman breed continues to excel globally. Your continued support and involvement are essential to our collective success. Should you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Challenging times are opportunities to strengthen and grow in many ways. Together we will achieve accelerated success in 2025 and beyond. Thank you for your dedication to ABBA and the future of the Brahman Breed.
