Scholarships & Awards
Each year the AJBA awards over $30,000 in scholarships thanks to the donations of many of our supporters such as L’ABBA, Brahma Mamas, Margaret Watkins Memorial, Jeff Smith Memorial, Don Banks Memorial, Billy Dan Lindley Memorial, Bubba & Carrie Hudgins Memorial, Sherry Hensley Memorial, Amanda Pounds Memorial, The Brahman Foundation, Heritage Cattle Company, Louisiana Brahman Association and more. Eligibility for scholarships is based on AJBA membership. Scholarships are available to graduating seniors with the exception of the Don Banks Memorial and the Amanda Pounds Memorial Scholarships, which are available to graduating seniors as well as AJBA members enrolled in undergraduate studies at an accredited university.
Completion of the general AJBA application will qualify you for multiple AJBA scholarship awards. The Amanda Pounds Memorial scholarships requires the completion of a separate scholarship form. Each application is included in the links above.
Scholarship applications are due by May 1st of each year, and are awarded each summer at the “All American” Awards Banquet during junior nationals.

The AJBA Junior Herd Builder Program was initiated in 2011 in an effort to provide a deserving AJBA Member with genetics that could be used to improve and expand their herd. Each year a generous breeder will donate an animal or a genetic package to be presented at the International Brahman Show in Houston, Texas.
- Each applicant must complete the Official AJBA Junior Herd Builder Application and submit an essay on the specified topic.
AUSTRALIAN EXCHANGE PROGRAM – View/Print Application
Are you an AJBA Member between 18 and 21 years of age and looking for an all expense paid trip to Australia? Each year AJBA sends one lucky member to Australia to spend up to three months learning more about the Brahman breed and the Australian breeders. This is a very fun and educational trip and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The time of the trip can be altered to fit the recipients schedule.
